Meet The Instructors + Staff
How it works
Once funding has been confirmed, the artsREACH programme co-ordinator offers school principals in-school workshops and after-school programmes. In-school workshops include Drawing/Painting, Printmaking, Dance and Theatre. After-school workshops include Theatre and Visual Arts. The principals select classes, schedule space (gym or multi-purpose room) and confirm dates and times with the programme co-ordinator.
Funds to cover the cost of workshops are raised through private donations, grants, sponsorships and fundraising events.
Donations are tax deductible (86388 1074 RR0001). Click here to make a donation.
Trained artsREACH instructors lead the 90-minute workshops in public elementary schools. All the required materials for a workshop are provided by artsREACH.
During the workshops, students express their individuality, build confidence and self-esteem by learning new skills and techniques.
All instruction and materials are provided at no cost to schools or participants. In addition, classroom teachers learn new techniques and skills by observing our artist-instructors in action.
We provide classroom teachers with a resource guide developed to complement the BC Provincial Schools Curriculum, so they may build on the ideas generated during the workshops.
